A recent comment by Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad has revived speculation about his political future. During a live interview on September 4 with Iranian state television, Ahmadinejad appeared to suggest that he might remain in power beyond the end of his term. Ahmadinejad's second term as president ends in 2013 and under Iran's constitution, he cannot run for a third consecutive term.
